In my head it's more expect Post Slam blues for smaller Non Slam tournaments...especially if it's a week or two after the Slam. Long break after YEC.

Re: Around The World 2026 - The Scoreboard
Well then: that is week 3 over and done. On average, this was a better scoring week than the previous one: 135 avg. for week 2 vs. 152 avg. for week 3. And this time two people managed to pass the 200 points barrier!
In the words of this week's highest scorer: "...a huge turnaround from last week.." and so it was. Making the jump from 38 points in week 2 to 229 in week 3 should be cause for some celebration for texasniteowl
In second place for the week, just five points behind, is wolfy333.
In the overall standings tenedab has slipped out of the top-3 (for now
) with wolfy333 taking the second spot! Still in the lead, as was the case after the first and second week, is Jeff from TX!
The final week starts tomorrow in Merida and Austin with a 11 AM (local time) deadline for (probably) both. Got any trades left to make? Get 'm in a.s.a.p.!!

Re: Around The World 2026 - The Scoreboard
happy to have made it to #4, considering I started at #8.. but I suspect everyone has the same team now for the home stretch, not much movement is likely now. Still, fun game, happy to have played it. much less stressful than the SPs, which require day to day attention..

The sole way for somebody to make moves is if they have a surprise winner like in cat C or D. Other than that, what you say.

Look at the previous post from ponchi... "The sole way for somebody to make moves is if they have a surprise winner like in cat C or D." Which is EXACTLY what happened, especially after most other players did not live up to our limited expectations

This has been a special edition of Around the World without a doubt, with a per tournament points average of just 100 points after seven tournaments and no less than 16 one week scores of less than that average which pretty much sums up the experience of several of us.
There were, in fact, only two contestants who scored over 100 points each week: Oploskoffie (the high scorer of the final week by a single point) and the winner of Around the World 2026, ponchi!!!
He moved up 5 spots thanks to trading in Peyton Stearns, pushing Jeff from TX in to second place. And, despite getting Wang'd, those seven points kept New England Nitemare in third place!
I'll get the congratulatory thread up in a minute but for now, here are the final scores and standings

Re: Around The World 2026 - The Scoreboard
Especially jarring is how pretty close to half the points all came in week 1. Some of us, myself included, had a worse week 2-4 score than our week 1.

Re: Around The World 2026 - The Scoreboard
Honestly, I can appreciate this level of insanity. Up to a point anyway
The MVP was wildcard pick Katie Boulter with 125 points from 2 tournaments played. In second place, we have category C pick Sorana Cirstea with 115 (also from two tournaments) and in third it is another category C player, Peyton Stearns with 110 points from three tournaments.
Places four and five go to Muchova (100 points from one tournament) and Pegula (also 100 points from one tournament).
On the disappointment side of things, to name a few... Navarro scored 44 from FOUR, Rybakina scored 40 from two, Samsonova scored 31 from three, Jovic 30 from two, Fernandez scored 25 from three and Noskova 14 from two.
