Garin qualified for Wimbledon two years in a row when he was not ranked high enough to get in directly.

Those six wins, in addition to the surprising ace count he racked up in the first two rounds, were enough to convince me he would win. But I wasn't feeling too good after he blew a 4-2 with a break point for 5-2 lead in the third set and then failed to finish it off with a 0-40 lead at 5-3 in the fourth set before finally serving it out.

If you mean that you are hoping they will not run out of picks for the final, I am with you.

Remember that we have tomorrow off. :yahoo:

I was about to create a list of tomorrow's picks before I realize that 1) I didn't have to do that today, and 2) I really can't do that until all of todays matches are finished.

And as a picker, I am glad that we will have all eight matches to choose from, and not just the top half or bottom half.

Update topic, or are we still way too many? It seems today there will be no surprises.

I know that the normal procedure is to create an updated thread at the start of the second week. The fewer dead people you have, the easier it is to drag-and-drop a new days-worth of picks into the spreadsheet of all of the picks. However, if you create the updated spreadsheet too soon, you could end up with a lot of dead people to complicate the dragging-and-dropping in the updated spreadsheet. So, my plan is to wait until we have less than 50 people left before I start an updated spreadsheet.

What I like to do with the ladies. Just survive and figure it out later. It isn’t going to work here. But at least I’ve earned more days to pick and paint myself deeper into the corner!

I should still be in the men's suicide contest, you show me picking Nishikori but I picked Cilic, you can check day 4 picks.

My day 5 was Garin and day 6 was Berretini, please verify and if possible add me back into the contest.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello Kc.
I do not run the pool, but Dave will look into that. I can see that indeed your pick was Cilic.
One issue might have been that you have been continuously writing "My pick is " such and such. We have tried to make everybody simply write the last name and the first name of the pick, with nothing more. I do not know if this may have caused an error, but for future picks, just put down your pick in that fashion.
I will let Dave reply to you. He must be resting from the site after a tough week, with all the rain delays.
Hope you will join all of those that will beat the draw.

kcgregg: I have corrected that. Thanks for pointing that out. This is the third time that has happened this contest. I am beginning to suspect a quirk in Google Sheets.

Everyone Else: Feel free to double check your listed pick history. If you are dead because of an incorrect pick, send me a "private message" and I'll fix it. But do remember that I do have your pick history.

Let's see:
Have winning record against opponent? Check
The record is lopsided? Check.
Last three sets played against the opponent have been dominant? Check
Plays the top seed in the next round, who will beat him handily? Check

What other indicators that Rublev was the pick of the day were needed? :vomit:
