They were also the 2nd match on tonight on a weeknight. The WTA semis were playing 2nd fiddle to the ATP quarterfinals.

That is a bit misleading..Collins has been to the AO finals, beating Swiatek, no less, on the way..

Collins is also the last person to beat Barty, in an Aussie tuneup.

Alcaraz versus Dimitrov.. Alcaraz' topspun shots sat up and begged Dimitrov to hit them. Topspin isnt really very effective on a hard court..

What caught my attention is how good Grigor's anticipation was. Alcaraz is very versatile, but still has some patterns. And Dimitrov studied them well. On many occasions he was guessing right.

Depends on what kind of hard. On a sandpaper-like in IW it was quite effective ))

yes, then it is quite like a clay court in the way it grips the ball? I dont know, will have to watch a bit more.

The price to be paid for this parity.
WTA Semis: #4, #14, #27 and unseeded. One slam winner.
ATP: #2, #3, #4 and # 11. Two slam winners, two ATP championship winners.

I love the parity in the WTA, but it works against it marketing its products.

I said this to my daughter last night. I think it's Abuserev's tournament to lose.
