Shelton is through.

Once again Fritz is playing the late match although they may have done him a solid because I think it was his girlfriend's birthday yesterday.
saw only the highlights, from which you cant tell aything.. what did Svitolina do right or Anisimova do wrong?

Love the girl, and I wish her nothing but the best.
But Amanda has a history of disappearing in matches. If it is going well, she is a beautiful striker of the ball. The moment it gets a bit tough, she can't handle it.
Of course, this was not that other recent debacle. But that she fades in matches is a given. And the locker room surely knows.

In the previous round Svitolina had won in a romp 6-1, 6-1 over Kalinskaya, a personal favorite of mine who also tends to go away when she gets behind, so I was not that surprised by her scoreline against Anisimova.

I am very interested to see how Svitolina fares against Osaka. Different type of challenge, but yet another player who had not shown much resilience in her recent incarnation until she saved the two match points against Samsonova here in the second round.

in a perverse way, mboko's win over Bouzas Manneiro impressed me even more than her win over Coco.. for a 17 year old, beating someone you are expected to beat, can be harder than beating someone you are not expected to beat...

I have not been able to see her play because they are not showing Montreal here.
How far can she go? Are we talking a new Coco? Is she in the same path as Andreeva? Or Vaidisova?

My opinion is that she is better than Andreeva. Andreeva moves better, but Mboko hits harder and has better court sense. It would not surprise me if she is in the top 10 by next year on her current trajectory.

I totally agree. Bouzas Maneiro went up 2-0 in the second set and I immediately thought "we're going three" but Victoria had other ideas and won the set 6-2 after winning the first set 6-4.

Did you notice how she was hitting vicious returns and that some of them were sailing out and next thing you know she's junk balling her opponent?

I have yet to see the name(s) of the women who appear to be her coaches. Let's hope she stays away from the celebrity coach merry-go-round.

Tauson knocks out another 2025 major winner, and is into her second wta 1000 semi final of the season. She will play Svitolina or Osaka next

Naomi easily over Elina 2 & 2. I'm surprised it was that easy for her.
