Totally true, but at least I still have a decent shot to be the only one to predict the women's wooden spoon correctly. Just need Sabalenka to beat Sviitolina and then lose in the final (most likely to Rybakina if it happened).Togtdyalttai wrote: ↑Tue Jan 27, 2026 4:03 pm Interestingly enough, after last night the rest of the women's tournament is completely inconsequential for the outcome of this contest.

As I mentioned, the women's tournament is irrelevant to this contest's outcome. But there are still 3 contestants who have a shot at winning:
Ponchi101 is now out of picks, but he will win if either Jannik Sinner or Alexander Zverev loses in the men's final.
Charlie02123 will win if Carlos Alcaraz loses in the men's final.
Ptmcmahon will win if Novak Djokovic loses in the men's final.
And as Jazzyg mentioned, there are still two contestants with a women's pick, but both are too far back for that to help. The other contestant is Federex.
You can track your picks and see the scoreboard in this spreadsheet.

I probably have the longest odds, but nice to make it this far...think this is best I've done after years of contest.

Uhm... I like my chances. I say Alcaraz wins the whole thing. That means that Sinner will lose in the final.
Not bad.

How exciting! I had a Sinner d Alcaraz final in my original bracket, and the path back from there oddly worked out almost exactly as I had it.
It’s been a fairly “paint by numbers” slam so far, so it’ll be interesting to see how it works out. I’m concerned with how well Zverev has been serving (not just for this contest, but on behalf of the cosmic balance of the universe).
We’ll see!

I have a long streak of top-10 finishes dating back to the 2023 Australian Open on the line in the women's final. I believe if Rybakina wins, the third-pick wooden spoon bonus would put me in the top 10.

Amazing one. Now, how can I jinx Novak? Because I cannot do a reverse jinx knowing it will be a reverse jinx.

Well, it's Charlie02123 vs. Ptmcmahon for the medal. We're all waiting on the result of the men's final. Charlie has Jacob Fearnley, who will be the wooden spoon winner if Novak Djokovic wins on Sunday. Ptmcmahon has Yunchaokete Bu, who will be the last-place finisher if Carlos Alcaraz wins the championship. Of note is that Fearnley is also held by CanuckRaonic, dave g, and deelighted2.
On the women's side, one pick remains. Camila Osorio is held by jazzyg and will be the wooden spoon winner if Elena Rybakina defeats Aryna Sabalenka tomorrow. If Sabalenka wins the last placer will be Rebecca Sramkova.
You can track your picks and see the scoreboard in this spreadsheet.

Li beating Osorio 7-5 in the third set in the first round saved me from finishing dead last. Terrible picks, but at least I ended up getting the wooden spoon winner on the women's side thanks to that close call at the start.
