Re: In Memoriam
Historical horror author Dan Simmons has died at age 77 from a stroke. He's probably most famous for his Hyperion series in the late 80's and more recently his novel The Terror was adapted into a series.
The Terror is his only book I've read, and it was very good if you like sprawling, historical things (which I do).

Re: In Memoriam
I went to a Neil Sedaka concert in one of the summer concert series here in New York. He was lovely and talked a LOT about his admiration and friendship with Carole King. Great songwriter, RIP.Jeff from TX wrote: ↑Sat Feb 28, 2026 4:11 pm Neil Sedaka just passed away. He was 86. Truly a gifted songwriter and musician. I didn't realize his song "Oh Carol" was inspired by Carole King. They apparently dated in high school. RIP.
