Before we talk about Tiers Eala has to prove this week was not a fluke. Like Raducanu's USO likely was.

both Raducanu and Eala were impressive in defeat.. Raducanu attacked constantly, was a bit unlucky sometmes - Eala showed how to deal with second serves..
on a faster surface, both might have done better - of course, they had a formidable barrier to cross, in Pegula.

good to see Sabalenka doing well.. wasnt it here she had that horrible experience with her ex committing suicide?
Technically, this medium-paced hard court should suit her game, but she has never done all that well here, before.. nice to see

Exactly what I thought. We don't know if she is going to be a player that will win 46% of her matches, and she just strung three good victories because the stats allow for such a string to happen.
Having said that: there is a lot of potential, not only in the game, but in the marketing. I liked that she told Pegula "It was a privilege playing with you", and she took her defeat well. On the game side, I think that she was a bit intrepid coming to the net, but once there, she seemed comfy. She hit a couple of low FH volleys deep into the corner, which is not an easy shot.
It would be good if she becomes a regular winner in the tour. The potential for SE Asia is huge.

Nice bounce-back tournament for Djokovic.

He's looked better than he did at the Australian Open on his way to the final.

Honest question... Do we like Mensik? I can't keep up with all things tennis the way I used to, so I thought I'd ask. He seems like a good kid to me. So I just wanted to see if he's, like, had photo-ops with Andrew Tate or done anything else that would make him, you know, evil incarnate...

Quite on court, which makes him easy to like for me.
There is one simple, quick, 100% surefire way to make him an absolute fave, tomorrow. But I know he won't do it.

Resounding win for Sabalenka...seems to have banished the demons from her mind...I am hopeful she will win W this year ..she has always done well but never quite made it..on clay, i would still expect Swiatek to beat her..of course, when you are one of the 3 best in a given tournament, you always have a shot, and she does.
