by ponchi101 Aryna and Elena through, with no drama.
I did not see that Ostapenko is scheduled to play Tauson. I remember we were very high on her a few years ago, and she has stalled. That one may be interesting.

Tauson was "definitely future Top 10." You just never know. Injuries and who knows what else. She still might make it - she's only 21 - but it's yet another example that most people don't have steady Top 10 careers, and careers aren't a straight line. Players like Iga and even Coco - who did improve steadily and fulfilled her potential very early - are extremely rare. If someone gets into the Top 10 for a year or two, it's amazing and against the odds. It also makes me appreciate someone steady like Sakkari. Yes she's probably not Slam champion material, but most people aren't. She's had a very good career.

by patrick Tauson gives an assist to Swiatek as Ostapenko moves on to grass season.

by ponchi101 One of the oddest stats in all of sports. Afer winning it in 2017 (was it that long ago already?) she has gone 1R, 1R, 3R, 2R, 2R, and 2R. Truly weird.

by Suliso Vondrousova and Gauff are the strongest threats to Swiatek in the top half or am I missing someone?

by ponchi101 Gauff is not a threat. That "rivalry" has become a Roger/Roddick, Serena/Sharapova thing. I will have to agree about Vondrousova, although threat may be too big a word.

by mick1303 Khachanov losing to a player with 26-49 career win-loss record... This is below 35%.

He's one of the players that when he first came on the scene I thought would be a regular in finals of M1000 and Slams. Instead he seems content to plod along doing just well enough to stay in the top 20. He's earned US $16,201,803. I'd say that is a decent amount of money.

by mick1303 Seems like his career will be similar to Tim Mayotte. Not spectacular. I was expecting better showing from him. His win percentage outside slams is 55.8%. In slams it is almost 70%. It was his time to rack up points...

....Well....he DOES have an Olympics silver medal. (Albeit, so does Tim Mayotte  ). AND, he is pretty. :gorgeous:

She must be shattered. Heart broken. Borderline suicidal.

by nelslus PS: Seriously- I was expecting less from Khachanov. Especially when you consider who his top competitors have been. I have been impressed with how many late round Slams results he had.

by nelslus The foul Vika and Erroneous have been removed today. For that, we can all be grateful.

It's hard to string 7, go for broke on 85% of your shots, matches together. Maybe only happens once, on a fluke.

Andreeva over Vika feels lateral at best. Also, thank you for using foul in the way it is supposed to be used.

If she knew it was this easy she would have done it much earlier ))
