The QF to winner story is becoming more common. Twice a year, maybe?

Somehow I don't think she's going to get the Emma Raducanu treatment in the press. It'll be interesting to see how she progresses next year.

Sure. All winners have a randomness to them. But their used to be like cohorts for the winners. The 1-10 ranked players won 2-3 tournaments a year (each one, on average), the 11-50 won 1-2, the 51-100 won maybe 3-4 combined.
The qualifiers are winning 1-2 a year, combining them all.
