Who was she? I had the sound down. I thought she would never shut up.

And what a draw to come through! Collins, Rybakina, Svitolina, Swiatek, and Sabalenka. I mean damn.
Has to be one of the hardest-earned Slams titles. What a satisfying way to break through.

Very impressive performance by Keys and not just today. A rare win for the "field" as ponchi would say. Very late in her career to win the first Slam, but better late than never!

Super happy for Maddie. I didn't think she would reach this level, but she really played impressive tennis to win this title taking out Swiatek, and Sabalenka back-to-back, and that match point was such an impressive winning shot.

That is my point, it is not rare anymore. The Keys, Raducanu's, Rybakina's, Kenin's, Stephens, Andreescu's are always there.
You can even spot a bit of a "pattern". You have a player that gets hot for a few months. They can't miss a ball, they pound winners at ease. And then, they fade away. Kenin looked like a solid top 10 player for years to come. She was not. Andreescu's annus mirabilis was amazing. Now she is not a factor. Raducanu... let's not even start there.
At RG, Swiatek will be the favorite. She is truly special on clay. But at W, watch out again for the field. Because somebody may catch fire for 7 matches, and we will be again "surprised".
Love that Maddie won. But I will be the wet blanket. She should have, by now, 3 slams, at least. She has always been this good. But better to get one now.

Who's the last "field" winner for men? Cilic at 2014 USO I suppose. It's been more than 10 years now... Unless maybe you count Alcaraz first Slam title.
