What is happening with Draper? Is he injured? Or Bublik suddenly plays out of his mind?

Bublik has hit at least 31 drop shots that have given him the point. Several of them for clean winners.
He is playing tennis that would be the envy of Laconte or Kyrgios. With the difference that it is working to perfection.

Sometimes a SP bandwagon weight just drags players down :D

Bublik had 68 winners to 39 unforced errors. Pretty special performance. I thought Draper would win, but the way Bublik tore apart de Minaur in the final three sets of a match I did not see earlier in the tournament gave me pause.

Draper had an insane get at 15-0 love with Bublik serving for the match. It surprised Bublik so much he whiffed on the half-volley and nearly got himself into trouble thinking about not being up 30-0 on the next few points.

Watching Sinner drubbing Rublev and Safin couldn't look more bored (exactly how I would have predicted he would).

Safin strikes me as a stoner.

I saw the first set of Pegula vs Boisson. Pegula didn't really have to do much and by the end of the set Boisson wasn't moving her feet at all, her head was down and her shoulders were slumped. She was the picture of utter defeat. I dozed off and when I woke up again I saw Boisson's blue top and asked myself "why is this match still going on?" imagine my surprise to see Boisson not only won the second set but had Pegula fighting for her life to stay in the match! She was a completely different player from the one I saw in the first set. there was one point where she enticed Pegula up to the net and off balance managed a lob that landed in. She was playing smart tennis and while Pegula fought Boisson was not going to be denied.

In Pegula's defense it's hard to prep for someone you've never seen or heard of before but one would think your coach would've at least sat in on one of her matches to see how she got to face you and give you some idea of what to do against her.

That said this was a bad loss for Pegula and I'm sure she knows it.

Boisson will face media darling Mirra Andreeva next.

That was a masterclass by Bublik in use of drop-shots to pull his opponent out of position..Draper reached many of them but Bublik was ready for the next one .lots to learn for all young players

Pegula showed us yet again that her game is ineffective on courts that doen help her.. she will be much better on grass and fast hard courts.. coming up next. Too many people were foole dby her Charleston win, forgetting that green clay is closer to a hard court than to clay.

Meanwhile, Sinner is looking like a real threat- probabilities need to be revised..
Sinner 45%
Alcaraz 50%
Djokovic 4%
Zverev %

Who has Sinner played that merits revision? If he crushed Djokovic (or Zverev, which he has in the past), sure.
But the odds at the beginning of the tournament have not changed much. He has done what was expected.
