by ashkor87 First time I can remember #1 and #2 meeting in both finals ..
by ashkor87 Sinner's first serve not lanfing...yet
by ashkor87 Sinner stole that set! But this is a really high-quality match...unlike Coco - Saba
by ashkor87 Sinner's first serve gone AWOL
by Suliso Sinner now just a game away from his third straight GS victory. That would be monumental.
by Suliso What a disaster it turned out to be...
by dryrunguy I'm trying to recall a recent major men's final with this many twists and turns (triple championship point, for pete's sake), and I'm drawing a blank.
But dismiss Sinner at your own peril, regardless of what happened late in the fourth.
by ashkor87 Isn't this a replay of the uso a couple years back .?sinner had matchpoint in the 4th and lost?
by skatingfan longest French Open final
by texasniteowl Just. Wow. That tiebreak. What can you say?
by ashkor87 Best match I have seen in a while...
by dryrunguy Well, it was an honor and a privilege to watch that match.

by nelslus OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Insanity.
To be abundantly clear.....NO sane tennis fan is ever going to discount Sinner. Now or ever. Truly, I now hope both of them win all Slam titles....albeit, LOL, i sure as heck want Carlos to win a ton more. What i feel will always be the saving grace for Sinner is and in a truly worst case scenario, whenever Carlos gets upset at a Slam.....much more likely to happen than for Jannick....I mean, who the hell else is going to beat Sinner, especially at a Slam.....Scary part is, there IS still room for improvement for both. When both of them learn to be top notch clutch servers.....
What an absolute privilege that, after Rafa, Roger and Novak, we so quickly already have two at least potential legends.

He was just the definition of shell shocked sitting down after the match. Very, very understandably.
by ponchi101 Too early to say where this final stands (recency bias is a strong response), but certainly a top 5.
I believe Carlos is now the sole player in history to win his/her first 5 slam finals. Right?

Alcaraz says his Roland Garros final against Sinner is the best Grand Slam match of his career
Courier: “Where does this rank amongst all the matches you’ve played at the majors?”
Carlos: “I’m gonna put it first. I think it’s the best grand slam match I’ve played in my career.“

by jazzyg Federer won his first seven slam finals.
by ponchi101 I love this stat.
Sinner hit 722 strokes; 64 were UE. That means he hits less than 10% of his shots out.
Alcaraz: 711/73.
Gives you a new perspective on what the UE stat means (i.e. they seldom hit a ball out).
