I know that it was more than 14 days. It was one of the hottest 6 months of tennis ever. She was beating people left and right, and then, as you say, the injuries hit.
But it really seems like she simply forgot how to play. One thing is to not be able to reach her level again. Another is losing in qualies over and over again.
I wish she could get back to that USO final level.

Obviously we can never know for sure, but that long a lay off ... followed by subsequent injuries... made it hard to know if she really did "forget" anything, or just couldn't pull it off physically any more. Guess we will never really know.

I think we can see that the serve is not what it was in 2019, and that is likely the result of the shoulder injury.

And during that time, she also had injury issues that she did not properly recover from but kept on playing, as I recall.

As I have learned personally, back problems heal but never go away. My guess is she just isn't physically able to sustain the level of tennis she showed during her magic summer.

It's the same thing for Paula Badosa, albeit her style of tennis gives her a little more leeway to be successful without tearing the cover off the ball.
