This may result in matches being moved from one court to another. DENISE PARNELL - REFEREE

by mick1303 Not that I particularly dislike Sabalenka, but it would be hilarious ) And also very good for Iga's chances. But she'll have to take care of her part.

by Suliso This match is way more competitive than I anticipated. Still expecting Sabalenka winning of course.

by ponchi101 They have to stop this "clothes changing" :poop:
It started as somebody needing to change a truly drenched set of clothes. It has evolved into pure gamesmanship.

by ptmcmahon Sabalaneka is falling apart right now. Missing even easy shots.

by joanjettson It must be exhausting to be Sabalenka.
I know it is exhausting to be her fan.

by ashkor87 No way Saba can beat Swiatek here at this rate...

by Suliso That's assuming Sabalenka plays like today and Swiatek like yesterday. Not necessarily a reasonable assumption. Grass is the weakest surface for both anyway.

by jazzyg Sabalenka definitely could have lost that match. The unforced error by Siegemund when she had game point for 5-3 was the crucial moment.

I have not been impressed by Sabalenka in the matches I saw, but Siegemund plays a totally different game than Swiatek. I would be shocked if Sabalenka lost to her, although I am not sure that will be the matchup anyway. Let's see how Swiatek handles someone who actually has the game to beat her.

by mick1303 Anisimova still leads Sabalenka 5:3, but out of the last 4 meetings she won only one.

by mick1303 But given the overall carnage of seeds/favorites it will be a decent semi - not a mismatch like when someone like Boisson/Clarisa Fernandez makes a semi.

by Suliso It could still be high profile SF's: Sabalenka vs Anisimova and Swiatek vs Andreeva.

by Owendonovan Anisimova v Andreeva final would be fine by me.

You beat me to it.
I would love Amanda to get it.

Sabalenka has been pretty scratchy through this whole tournament, but still coming through. Basically, she's been rising to the level of her opponent, but not flexing her #1 muscles. I still think she'll beat Swiatek, who has also been pretty patchy in her matches. I still like Aryna for the title.

by ponchi101 Today's match was an oddity. Siegemund knew she would not beat Aryna matching her strokes, so she hit a lot of junk at her, and it was working. But you must be able to hit that junk.
Iga is not a junk baller; she will match Aryna's strength with strength, and if so, Aryna will get a cleaner ball to hit. But Iga is a bit faster than her, so they can match up well.
I think Iga's chances are good.

by ti-amie Actually I would love to see Anisimova take this but she was up 6-1, 5-2 and barely hung on for that 7-6(9) win of the second set. She can't do that again.

by Suliso I think both both Andreeva and Anisimova have a solid chance to win as well.
