Well at least Sviotlina won so I would have been cooked (would have picked Gauff.)

CORPSE STINKUM
Coco Gauff (5 victims) It's rare to have a pick this STANK so late in the tournament, but TMQ cannot in good conscience give any flowers, no matter how wilted and crusty, to what was quite possibly the worst match I've ever seen Coco play. Svitolina did nothing but stand on the opposite side of the court and wait for Gauff to dump the ball into the net. Rough stuff, albeit culminating in a fantastic backstage racket smash.

We are down to our final 2 players! Ashkor has chosen Jessica Pegula for today while Valynn has opted for Elena Rybakina.

Alas, not to be, as both players went with the upset and succeeded. We play on!

Rybakina beating Swiatek should not be an upset in anyone's mind anywhere.
Swiatek's Wimbledon was an outlier. She's been trending dramatically down for more than a year and rarely beats anyone of note.

So looks like Valynn is making last pick (Svitolina) and ashkor is picking Rybakina. Ashkor has Svitolina left too so has a chance to beat the draw if Svitolina can pull off the upset.

Ashkor could guarantee a medal by switching to Svitolina, but I suppose his chances are very high anyway.

Yeah interesting call to go for the solo win, and have a shot at beating draw... or going for guaranteed medal. Not sure which way I would have gone. With how big a favorite Sabalenka will be I think I'd probably do the same as ashkor, but good case for both options.
