i believe the j is pronounced y.. and the last k seems to be not at all (from what I could ake out)

I believe you're right on the first point and wrong on the second. If so it seems natural for me and I've always pronounced it like this (Latvian is my native language and I speak some Russian too).

Anyway an amazing week by Bejlek winning a 500 level tournament and beating two top 20 players on the way. She's raising 63 spots in the rankings to career high #38.

Seen her play or pronounce her name? I don't even know who she is!

Don't you remember her being part of the magnificent Czech junior generation few years ago? It was Noskova, Bejlek and Fruhvirtova sisters.

She was originally slated to be the best of the bunch, but it ended up being Noskova

Missed the memo. I don't recall her at all.
