by Togtdyalttai Here's the place to brag it up when your losers bite the grass and to wallow in your misery when they instead win their matches. A pick tracker will be up after the start of main draw play and will be updated daily in the best case, and the scoreboard will be updated after each round.
by
Togtdyalttai A pick tracker has been posted and the first day's results added in. Please check that I have recorded your picks correctly and let me know if I haven't.

by deelighted2 Unfortunately for me, I have to tell you that you have given me Liamvalid's picks for WTA. Mine are much worse. ATP are OK.

Togtdyalttai Federex and jazzyg, the latter off a French Open victory, both picked a full slate of losers in the first round (though jazzyg has since lost a pick in the second round). Three contestants are in third behind them with 18. Fifteen of our twenty-two participants got at least 15 points for the round.

CyborgShoes Hmmm looks like Galan is marked as a loser in everyone’s pick but he won. I hope the community policing is appreciated

Thank you. I tend to write the winner in the next round as well as the loser from time to time. This contest I was distracted by switching things around because of lucky losers and didn't catch it.
by dave g The low score is 9 points, and that is just from round 1. That is surprisingly good. Low score records for totals are like 1 or 2.

Togtdyalttai Federex pulled ahead in the second round, opening up a 3-point lead on CyborgShoes and jazzyg. Scores dropped back into a normal range, but everyone at least made it into double digits.
Speaking of double digits, our fearless leader ponchi101 has already clinched the wooden spoon for the contest, finishing with 10 points. He is the only contestant to run out of picks so far.

Same.
And your YCWJ score is currently double mine! SP, Skan, predictions...I'm sucking all around.

Am curious why the Tsurenko picks were replaced with Sharma. Tsurenko withdrew before the start of play, but after some of us had made our picks. When I picked, the draw had Tsurenko playing Putintseva. Later, she was replaced by Pironkova, not Sharma.
I am probably missing something here.
by weefunk p.s. I think Sharma replaced Kovinic

Togtdyalttai Federex continues to build the lead up gradually, and is now up by 4 points over jazzyg. IronMike is 1 point further back, while shmrck14 hasn't lost a pick since the first round and tied for the highest score of the round.

Togtdyalttai Federex, jazzyg, and IronMike remain at the top of the leaderboard after the 4th round*, in that order. Multiple other contestants are still alive for the medal, however, due to top or second-to-top-confidence picks still alive.
*Yes, there is one remaining 4th round match to be played. One contestant, ktothem1 has a pick represented by Medvedev in the 4th round. The scoreboard currently shows their score if Hurkacz defeats Medvedev. However, this does not affect the top of the scoreboard, so I opted to post an update today rather than tomorrow.

Togtdyalttai The quarterfinals eliminated most of our contestants' remaining picks, and now only five have a pick remaining. Of those five, most are irrelevant to the eventual victor of the contest. So while current leader Federex has run out of picks, he's still the clear favorite to win the medal. There is only one scenario in which he doesn't: if Hubert Hurkacz loses in the men's final. That will give the win to Togtdyalttai.

Togtdyalttai With Berrettini's victory over Hurkacz, Federex is the champion of the 2021 Wimbledon YCWJ contest!
Only one contestant, Tolulops, has a pick left going into the finals. That pick is Gilles Simon, who will be the ultimate loser if Berrettini defeats Djokovic in the men's final. If Djokovic instead wins, Pablo Carreno Busta will take home the spoon.
For the women, the last place finisher will be either Varvara Gracheva (if Barty wins) or Alison van Uytvanck (if Pliskova wins).

Was Simon wooden spoon at French?
Yep. He's going for the Channel double along with Djokovic.
by dave g Congratulations to Federex.
by
ponchi101 Well done, Federex. From the wooden spoon of THIS context, it is always impressive when somebody wins this one.

by Federex Thanks..my first YCWJ in the new site..
It seem it is getting more difficult to find the wooden spoon even more men now. (Women is always a random lottery anyway.)
by jazzyg Good job, Federex. Your picks were a little good for me as I tried to win two in a row.
On another note, if Djokovic loses this match, Simon will be the biggest loser of two consecutive slams. That can't possibly have ever happened before.

Togtdyalttai Though there's very little change from the previous round, here's a final scoreboard and pick tracker. A recap will follow in a separate thread.
