Former president Donald Trump warned early Friday of “potential death & destruction” if he is charged in Manhattan in a criminal case related to alleged hush-money payments to adult-film actress Stormy Daniels to conceal an affair.
The posting after midnight on Truth Social, Trump’s social media platform, was his latest — and most explicit — allusion to violence that could follow an indictment stemming from an investigation led by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D), whom Trump called a “degenerate psychopath.”
Trump wrote: “What kind of person can charge another person, in this case a former President of the United States, who got more votes than any sitting President in history, and leading candidate (by far!) for the Republican Party nomination, with a Crime, when it is known by all that NO Crime has been committed, & also known that potential death & destruction in such a false charge could be catastrophic for our Country?”

Don Aaron, a spokesman for the Nashville police, said the female shooter entered the school through a first-floor side entrance and moved from the first floor to the second, firing and killing multiple victims along the way. “There is video from the school that we are viewing now to try to learn exactly how all of this happened,” Aaron said.

The shooter had two “assault-style rifles” and a handgun, according to Nashville police spokesman Don Aaron. Authorities initially said the shooter appeared to be a teen, then police tweeted that she was a Nashville woman.
Two officers shot the assailant on the second floor, according to the police department’s Twitter account.
As of Sunday, there were 13 mass shootings with four or more dead this year, with a total of 69 people killed. Since 2013, there have been at least five mass killings at K-12 schools, according to a database maintained by the Associated Press, USA TODAY and Northeastern University.

The 28-year-old shooter was a resident of the Nashville area and had attended the Covenant School at some point, Nashville Police Chief John Drake said during a news conference. He was unsure about the years during which she was a student at the school.

Drake said he did not remember whether the woman was wearing body armor during the shooting.
