WTF? That is not A CRACK. That's completely broken up.

In a way, I'm happy that age has made me sick on roller coasters now, but I used to love them. There were lots of options in SoCal and I went often.

It is the one big "secret" (because everybody knows it) about the US economy. A lot, and it is indeed a LOT, of it runs on migrants that are willing to do all the "dirty" jobs.
During the pandemic, when I was stuck in Colorado, a house was being built across from our place. I was surprised, one Saturday afternoon, to see three guys working. Then, they turned on some music.
Of course they were Mexican. Because it took them a while to build the place, and I would walk by them to go to the market, I one day bumped into them. We started talking, I switched to Spanish and it became the usual: where was I from, what was I doing there, etc.
I did not ask if they were there legally; what would be the point? The thing was: they were working, on Saturday afternoons.
And then you tell me immigrants are all criminals. Sure.

The citrus crop was already in trouble and now there's no one to harvest what's left. Higher prices are coming to a supermarket near you.

Unfortunately, you are correct. That same person is going to get rid of immigrant children born here whose parents immigrated here

This satisfies a little bit of schadenfreude. I wish all service folks bailed on their jobs for a week to show who's making things hum here.
