Who gives a racquet in 2024 to a Belarusian player?
Maybe somebody that sides with Ukraine? Maybe?

Which is the reason she is laughing in shot #2.
"Hey, Grigor, my girlfriend is prettier than yours!"

This was from an interview from 3 years ago, and it's not that surprising given Draper's background, and upbringing. I also don't know if you can hold a 20 year-old to these answers, and particularly a young high level athlete is about as isolated, and out of touch as any young person is likely to be.

Thanks for clarifying the 3 yo window.
About being 20 yo AND STUPID. I think if I were remotely close to famous, I would be in prison for the things I said and believed when I was 20.

That is a very Mc Carthy attitude by some people nowadays. They find something you said or did a long time ago, and judge by that. Like McCarthy in the 50's finding out you had gone to ONE MEETING of the American Communist Party in the 1920's and black listing you for that.

Apparently Draper comes from a conservative background.

It’s worth noting that Draper has had an incredibly sheltered upbringing and his dad is a very well-known ruthless entrepreneur who was chief exec of the Lawn Tennis Association for 7 years (who incidentally had to be forced out of the role despite being asked to leave multiple times). His views are unlikely to be liberal, left-wing opinions when you consider the school he went to and circles his family mix with.

Shook Stan Wawrinka's hand in the streets of Monaco
This explains what Dan Evans said what he said about the likes of Harriet Dart (obviously posh, with a name like that, and her general spoiled brat behaviour) and Jodie Burrage getting LTA support as well as also having gone to private schools.

Draper is undoubtedly talented, but let’s not pretend daddykins didn't have a lot to do with getting him to where he is.
His official LTA biography doesn't mention his father.

that strange Austin decision on not letting Keys play, is one of the cases being cited by PTPA. Which is correct. There is no way the WTA should get away with such cartel-like behavior.!
