May want to check Rybakina. She retired from her match at only 1-3. I can't find any reasons but, it is already Friday 21st. She has 9-10 days until W, if this was an injury thing.

From a British newspaper:

Having double-faulted in the fifth game of her first set against Azarenka, Rybakina let out a big breath and bent over in distress, before holding her head and walking over to the sidelines.

She was described by Sky Sports commentator Barry Cowan as "not in a good state" and needed to sit down, taking a break during the fifth match which was tied 15-15, before the umpire informed the Berlin crowd that Rybakina could not continue due to illness.

After Rybakina's 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 loss to Jasmine Paolini at the French Open, she revealed that health issues have caused her to struggle physically during matches recently.

“I think in the end my legs were not there,” the world No 4 explained. “No matter which conditions, if it’s slow or fast, I should have been moving better…. So I’m not really happy with the performance, but it is what it is. It’s tennis. Not every day you can play good.

“As I was saying, I was struggling a little bit with the health issues (in the) past few weeks — I think it’s just all together. But in the end no matter all these things, which were maybe happening outside of the court, I managed to get to the quarters. I think it’s (a) pretty good result."

Novak Djokovic has decided to travel to Wimbledon and is due to arrive on Monday - but the seven-time champion does not yet know if he will be able to compete after undergoing knee surgery.

Serbia's Djokovic withdrew from the French Open after his fourth-round victory over Francisco Cerundolo, in which he tore the medial meniscus in his right knee.

The 37-year-old had surgery in Paris just 17 days ago, but wants to give himself the best possible chance of playing by practising at the All England Club.

Wimbledon, which starts on 1 July, seemed a long shot at the time, and his hopes of returning to Paris to try and win a first Olympic gold medal also appeared in the balance.

But since then Djokovic has posted two upbeat videos on Instagram.

The first showed him using an exercise bike and leg weight machine in the gym, and the second - posted on Thursday - followed him running, doing lunges and hitting a tentative serve.

“We keep building day by day,” was the message to his 14.6 million followers.

Wimbledon Announces Record Prize Money for The Championships 2024
The total prize money fund for The Championships 2024 will be a record £50 million.

The All England Club is pleased to announce the total prize money fund for The Championships 2024 will be a record £50 million.

The gentlemen’s and ladies’ singles champions and runners-up will receive £2.7 million and £1.4 million respectively. First round prize money for the singles competition is set at £60,000.

The ladies’ and gentlemen’s doubles prize money fund will increase by 11.9% on 2023, while the Qualifying Competition allocation will rise by 14.9%.

Reflecting the growing popularity and success of wheelchair tennis at Wimbledon, the singles and doubles draws will expand to 16 players and eight teams. The prize money for the wheelchair and quad wheelchair events has been set at £1 million.

During the last 10 years, total prize money for The Championships has doubled, from £25 million in 2014 to £50 million in 2024.

Deborah Jevans, Chair of the All England Club, commented: “With this year’s Championships only days away, I am delighted to announce a record prize money fund of £50 million, with increases for players in every round and across every event. I am particularly pleased that we have been able to increase prize money for the wheelchair and quad wheelchair competitions to £1 million for the first time.

Interest in attending Wimbledon has never been greater, with unprecedented demand for tickets through our public ballot and corporate hospitality. A thriving, successful Championships gives us the opportunity to give back: to the sport, to our local community, and to strategically invest for the future.”

Now that the draw is out, it looks like the finals will be:
Men: Sinner vs Hurkacz
Women: Rybakina vs Gauff

I don't see Rybakina. I know we are fans, but she is nowhere near the physical level she will need.
Coco? Uhm, so hard to sell that, with that extreme FH grip.

these grass courts seem to favor short, light people...getting down to the ball is so critical, and tall/heavy people dont find it easy..Djokovic, Andreescu are flexible, so they manage... i think Jabeur does well because her centre of gravity is low, she can get down to the ball well ..not so Rybakina and Sabalenka etc. Coco is quite tall, but she is flexible..

Grass will always favor the nimble. It is the common thing amongst all the great champs.

clearly the first part of it is out ..! Maybe Zverev instead of Hurkacz? i still stand by the second line, though i am more confident about Gauff than about Rybakina...Rybakina still is at 90% i think...

so..do people still think Paolini cannot do much at W?!
