Sabalenka has something to do with the Swiatek-Gauff exchange, IMO
It was Sabalenka who dragged Iga into the discussion of her loss. Cori gave a diplomatic response. Iga decided to send a warm congratulations to Cori and a back handed diss to Sabalenka. Women being women. Hence the sarcastic laugh of Ravyn Simone and Marie Kondo saying "I love mess".
Well done by Iga.

Where is the backhanded diss to Sabalenka? Is she mimicking/mocking something Sabalenka said?
The entire post is a subtle clap back to Sabalenka's post match comments. It doesn't mention her at all. Iga just congratulates Cori thus letting her know that she wasn't thinking the way Sabalenka seemed to be implying she was.

We count UFEs and winners, which we should, but equally important are forced errors - most of our game consists of forcing the opponent to make a mistake, or not return into the court. It is the single most important metric in our game, and we dont count it. Another one I would like to see, especially with people like Coco, is weak shots that allow the oppoent to hit a winner - maybe 'invited winner' or something like that. On serve, aces and double faults, yes, but unreturned serves are more frequent, and more important. and so on.

It can't just be Iga congratulating Cori legitmately?

But how would you define a forced error? An UE seems to be easy and you still have a degree of subjectivity to it. A forced error, I believe, would be even harder to define in such a way that any ambivalence would not crawl in.
I say it is a good idea, but hard to implement. I would rather expand the WINNERS category. Any shot that your opponent barely put a racquet on should be classified as a winner. For example, winners are currently defined as a shot the other player did not touch. I would say that a shot that your opponent touched on the run but was unable to hit with any sort of control should be a winner.
But that is subjective too.

true, but unforced error is subjective too.. what looks like an unforced error could actually be a forced error.. and often is.

Yes it can be.
ETA: I thought about this again.
Let's look at what Sabalenka did. If she had stopped when she said she played poorly there would be no controversy about her remarks. Instead she went on to imply that she would rather have lost to Iga than to lose to Cori the implication being that Iga played poorly and should have beaten her. Amazing stuff.
Now if you're Iga, someone who famously hates losing and someone says that "you should've beaten me" what would you do? Would you say nothing and let the implication that you were the lesser player go unanswered or would you do what Iga did and complement the woman who won the tournament saying "I see what you did there and I'm not having it?" to Sabalenka.
Ummm... not sure what happened here... looks like someone accidentally editted my post? Is that even possible?
All I said was "It can't just be Iga congratulating Cori legitimately?" Can even see my line isn't quoted to anyone any more Rest of that post was someone else's words.
I mean I see how it's possible it could be throwing shade, but I just think it could just be a legitimate congrats and we're thinking harder about it than Iga did.
I edited your post when I wanted to edit my reply where I said "it can be."
So sorry. I have to be more careful.
I will try and fix it.
