Although some of those great 3 set women's finals may have had a dud fourth set to follow and not felt as good. I'm fine with it as is (and 5 set matches are hard to find time to watch often for me as well! )

I have never read of women advocating for 5 set matches. Keep it that way.

I would like to see the men play best of 3 until the quarters...most early round matches are too tedious

They are not hitting harder.
And the supersonic servers are also gone. There are no Brenda Schultz McCartneys, no Lisicki's, no Venus or Serena, or not even Martina, who used to leave people flat footed.
The quality is not about HARDER. It is something else.

Kind of weird thing for Sharapova to call out. It's misleading, sure, but not in an offensive way. I bet most people who saw Sharapova's tweet assume there was something sexist about the story. That's not it. It's just misframed to be clickbaity. Hardly the worst of the Internet or journalism.

I did find it mildly sexist and patronizing...

Really? I don't think it is at all. I think the only mistake is that they draw the wrong conclusion to have a breathless headline.

They used to do this to Serena all the time. I found it interesting that Sharapova called this out given the public history between the two women...

The subtle unstated innuendo was the same...'she is not really a woman'..that moron Tarpischev actually said it in an interview

I honestly didn't pick up on that at all. I think they're admiring how good she is, not saying she's not a woman. It's no secret that men are stronger and they hit harder, so they're marveling at her power. Not everything is an insult. I think this is a case of if you're looking for a snake, you'll find a snake. Tarpischev's comment were different - those were insulting.

Some of the guys I play with ..the more misogynistic ones..actually think Sabalenka is more man than woman..
In cultures like the US (before Trump!) nobody would dare to ssy it..in less PC cultures like India and Russia, people do say it
