I do that when I am a tourist. I carry water, a book (ok, that is me), maybe some snacks, depending on the weather report a raincoat. You also may end up buying something that day, so better have a place to carry it.
If touristing, I also carry my good camera. So a backpack is not a bad idea.
(I also carry the items you mentioned).

Novak Djokovic will undergo surgery on his torn meniscus in Paris on Wednesday, a source told ESPN, confirming multiple reports, which will put his status for Wimbledon in doubt.

Djokovic tore the meniscus in his right knee during his fourth-round match against Francisco Cerundolo. He played on through the pain and won in five sets but was left unsure of the damage done to his knee.

He underwent an MRI in Paris on Tuesday that confirmed the meniscus tear, causing the 24-time Grand Slam winner to withdraw from the tournament.

The injury requires surgery, and the recovery time frame means Djokovic faces a race against time to be fit for Wimbledon, which begins July 1. The likelihood is that Djokovic will skip the grass-court swing to focus on playing at the Paris Olympics; the Olympic tennis tournament is set to begin July 27.

We knew that the surgery was arthroscopic, and it was just a question as to whether it was a repair or a trim of the ligament, and now we know it was just a trim.

Still. Remarkable, from all sides. From the doctors that operated him, to him already being on a stationary bike.
I could have had a cavity repaired and would still be in bed.

Alexandrova was clutching her side in the last set against Samsonova...much as I like her, I have dropped her from my Greenacres team until I know she is well...

Dan Evans and Frances Tiafoe both injured themselves in falls on the grass today. It sounds like Evans's injury might force him out of Wimbledon and the Olympics

The modern style of playing, on grass, is too risky. You have very long points and you are moving side to side, a lot. The possibility of slipping and falling is too high.
In the past, it was serve and volley, and you were moving forward. Now, it is easy to injure yourself.

I don't disagree with you, but both of those players are attacking players - particularly Evans. Do we know how the injuries occurred?

Ti posted the video of Evans. You can see that he was wrong footed and tries to stop and return. And that leads to his fall.
And that is grass. That same shot, on a hard court, makes you stop and attempt your recovery. On clay, you slide and can't do anything. On grass, they come out injured.
