Do we think Anisimova will win a Slam (or two) and rise to #1 next year? I think there is a fair chance of that happening.

Doesnt change the prognostication too much - I expect Leylah, Coco, Muchova to do well - better than Mertens (who is already out), Navarro, Pegula - Bencic is very versatile, she may do ok, we shall see.
Anisimova is playing very well, she may even win this whole thing..the court is just about right for her.
Probabilities:
Anisimova 30%
Swiatek 25%
Gauff 15%
Muchova, Paolini 10% each
Field 10%
very odd score though, in the finals - 6-0, 2-6, 6-2.. must watch highlights to see what happened..

Since the turn of the century it has been 25 players in WTA, who won multiple Tier I tournaments in a single year. Amanda Anisimova became #26. Previous one (#25) was Andreeva, who also done it this year.

I do, often. You may not have been noticing.
anyway, it is not the prediction that matters - I am not betting after all (illegal here anyway!) - my point is my discussion of what happens when the court is slow, which is a more general discussion about tennis. I would have expected more people to comment, but nobody does.. except you, and your main point is it doesnt matter (which I dont agree with).
If nobody is interested, I am happy to stop posting. I do not need anybody's endorsement.
The fact that nobody has replied to your post does not mean they are uninterested. People read a lot here.
And yes, you and I are in disagreement about court speed. I believe other factors are much more important. Balls make a more variable factor than court speed nowadays (to me).
But nowadays, it is not the 90's, in which you had some courts that were like polished glass and some were molasses. You knew that if a Spaniard player was going to play Pete on an indoor court late in the season, his chances were nil. On clay, early in the spring? He had a very good chance.
Now, all courts are roughly the same. I believe that is one of the reasons why the big three were able to complete career slams, and J/C will too. In the meantime, Connors, Mac, Lendl, Wilander, Edberg, Becker and Sampras were not able. The courts were way different in the past.

I don't believe she can win two. One, yes, two, that is a bit too much.
And rising to #1 takes a lot of consistency. And I believe she does not focus as well as she could on the sport. She has a life outside of the court. So, I don't know. I believe Aryna and Iga will remain the two players ranked at the top.

The same number for men is only 14 players. Big 3 effect in a nutshell

Yep. I remember when the sole MS1000 that would be won by other players was Paris-Bercy, simply because R/R/N would not go there. And then they started going and it was over for that too.
