My work colleague who lauded the scientific virtues of using the "antiviral", Ivermectin, to treat COVID today pronounced that the drone sightings on the east coast were clearly the work of the US military and that they're "not telling us the truth." That may be correct. We don't yet know.

But she expressed the sentiment with such certainty and conviction that I had to interrupt her and suggest we shift the focus of the meeting to the upcoming corporate annual staff performance reviews. (My least favorite corporate topic. I was desperate.)

I always ask them: "Who are THEY?" Since, after all, THEY (the people telling us they are not telling us the truth) always claim THEY do know the truth.

Over on X, Musk seems to be pushing his own posts directly onto users' notification pages, even if they do not follow him, in a category comically labeled 'Elon Musk' above the breaking news that 'Elon Musk posted'

He's making those X devs implement new levels of dear leader (expletive) over there

That's what he bought it for. And it has delivered. He has Tiny in his pocket.
Plus, it is his platform to test his AI.

IF there are any improvements at all in USA when Trump takes over my bet is on space exploration. Among other things SLS really needs to go.

Why should SLS go? I know you are high on Space X, but why should SLS not be a viable platform?
And you know SLS has a its day counted. Elon will see to that.

Because SLS is ridiculously expensive. At 2 billion per launch (optimistically!) we'll never have a sustainable exploration of anything. It's a fully expendable junk...

Of course in this case SpaceX will step in, but there are other options better than SLS too. For example New Glenn (Blue Origin) or Stoke space in a more distant future. US has a very vibrant commercial space ecosystem right now. Also a space race with China is heating up and it for sure is not going to be won by outadated systems like SLS.

iPhone owners complained that Apple routinely recorded their private conversations after they activated Siri unintentionally, and disclosed these conversations to third parties such as advertisers.

Apple denied wrongdoing in agreeing to settle.
