I expected Zhang to lose today. He played and won three back to back matches that went three sets and involved multiple tie breaks.

Struff 7-6(5) first set over Stefanos. It seems his coach is doing a Papa Tsitsipas routine today.

Stefanos 7-5 second set. Struff took the potty break.

I really like Karatsev's game when he is on, but there's no way he would have beaten Struff 6-4, 6-2 in the qualifying if Struff had not known he was already guaranteed a spot in the main draw as the No. 1 seed in qualifying. I don't know that for a fact, but his level has been phenomenal every time I have seen him in this tournament. He just played an outstanding third set against Tsitsipas.

Did anyone else note the mass exodus from the stands after Struff/Tsitsipas ended?

What do people think about Feli in glasses?

The exodus started for me when I came back home and ESPN decided that it was better to show football matches than fulfill their statement of showing the night session.
There is a limit to how late a match can start for people to stay for it. Even for a famously nocturnal city like Madrid.

So for the semis we have the #1 seed, the #17 seed, a Q and a LL. Whole bunch of upsets, indeed.

Zhang did not play well, and Karatsev still has issues returning serve, but he hits the cleanest ball of anyone on tour in my opinion. I like his chances against Tsitsipas if they play in the semifinals, although Tsitipas should win if he has a good serving day.
AHHHH, succubus Suliso- you have clearly lured Yet Another into your Lair. HAVE you no shame?!?! :gorgeous:

Iga is doing Iga things. Kudermetova and her husband are both frustrated. Tl;dr you're not missing anything. Oh, Kudermetova did win a game to open the second set.

A wry smile from Kudermetova to her coach/husband just about says it all.

I'm really looking forward to being at work tomorrow with absolutely no chance of even glancing at a score until 11:30. I really like the energy both Borna and Carlito bring to their matches. No one will ever pass Chrissy's 125 matches on clay, but Iga's the best we've seen on clay since Henin.
