Talk About Tennis 2.0

I was hoping not to have to make this announcement, but if you could post it as a stand alone that would be appreciated:

Dear friends -

I am currently struggling with a health condition of a urological nature that produces frequent but unpredictable bouts of intense pain. I am in the course of a multi-stage treatment that first involves the elimination of infection. I will not be ready for the operative phase of the treatment for over two weeks and may not have access to scheduled time in the OR for a month. I have limited periods of lucidity on a daily basis and multiple priorities to address as well as I can during those times.

Accordingly, it is with great regret that I feel obligated to suspend the SKAN for both Roland Garros and Wimbledon 2023. Time will tell if the USO SKAN can proceed. The SKANs were initiated circa 2002 and have run continuously since then with the exception of 2005 when they were put on hiatus.

Thank you very much for your understanding. I look forward to resuming this fun and engaging contest following my recovery.

The only important thing now is to see you get better and be rid of whatever this condition is. It sounds like a real challenge, so here's wishing you strength and a speedy recovery. We'll be here, patiently awaiting your return.

Hi Everyone -

I wound up having three surgeries in 2023. Since my return to work I've been playing catch up and I'm still not in a position to take on anything further. It's all I can do to participate in some of the other contest offerings. Which is all to say that I won't be running the AO SKAN in 2024.
