Eva Lys after her loss in USO R2 speaks about her sudden illness: "I had trouble breathing deeply, my lungs burned a lot, especially during the long rallies. The physio tried to relax my diaphragm to get more air into the lungs. The doctor gave me something for my nose, but that didn't help much."

I guess no one is getting tested for COVID?

There are no mandates any more, are they? So, even if you were to test positive on (let's say) Thursday and your next match would be Saturday, what could the USTA do? Especially if you were asymptomatic.

For those that say that Novak always gets shortchanged.
His DAY MATCH, after his NIGHT five setter yesterday, was moved to the night session tomorrow. First shift, she he can rest a bit longer but then will not have to wait for the women's match to finish.
Nice.

Has anyone heard Carillo calling matches? She is calling some but I can’t find the replays. She called something - maybe Coco - with Petkovic and Carlos-Harris with Arias. I don’t think they are on the ESPN main feed, though. I can’t cue up ESPN replays.

QZ vs Jabeur is an jnteresting match-up..I would think this is where J gets stopped...
Cirstea very impressive against Bencic..how far can she go?
My wife and I were thinking Cirstea looks a bit like some Indians we know..wonder if she has any Romany blood..

She has been calling matches on the DirecTV extra channels, which is probably the same announcers as for the ESPN+ feed. She was on Gauff-Wozniacki today with Lindsay Davenport.

I found some. They are on ESPN3 but not ESPN+. She also did Pegula-Giorgi with Petkovic and Carlos-Harris with Arias.

I guess no one wore a visor during Carlitos/Harris match.

I'll see myself out.

I haven't looked for why the Styrcova/Vondrousova team withdrew from doubles, but if it is because of V's singles - that REALLY sucks for Barb

Vondrousova was having shoulder problems in her singles match, so I'm assuming that it was precautionary.
