The problem was no one checked availability and they found out the arena was booked solid with concerts. That's why they ended up building the arena on the golf course.

SMH
Hard to believe they didn’t put couldn’t have known, or did more due diligence. Very easy thing to find out 2 months before an event.

The WTA indeed needs new leadership. And my vote would go to Martina.

Why were the players still on court in these conditions?!

What a disaster. It's such a shame because they could have a wonderful event in the Czech Republic with packed, enthusiastic audiences.

Evidently Ostrava or Prague wanted 5 years, wouldn’t do a one-year deal.

I wonder if Iga has ordered herself a bright red burqa.

We're talking about the not enough rest, but both doubles teams will have played two matches today (Bepa + Siegemund also an extra set + beyond that)

Glad they moved doubles to Monday to minimize the impact.

(Hopefully they paid for the hotel rooms of doubles teams!)

what a hard final to watch - absolutely nothing worked from Jessie. But a hell of a tournament from Iga. A champion's performance. She deserves #1.

I feel like she doesn't get the love or appreciation she deserves.
