by ashkor87 Alexandrova looks the pick of the field here.. worth seeing if she is back after a relatively poor AO.. she did beat Rybakina at Adelaide so she cant be playing tooo poorly..?

It wasn't a bad loss in Australia, either. Third-set TB vs Siegemund, who was coming off the United Cup high, playing well and full of confidence.

by ti-amie I watched the entire Kerber vs Bronzetti match. Bronzetti zoomed through the first set taking it 6-1 in 28m. The second set was a bit closer. Bronzetti won it 6-3.

Kerber seemed to be having trouble controlling her shots. They sailed long more often than landing in court.

When you have such flat strokes...

by ashkor87 Great lineup...the best 4 players have reached the semis, as they should...

by ashkor87 AI says Vekic has 15% chance against Alexandrova's 85%.. ridiculous! It is almost even, in my opinon..

by ashkor87 Ooh! Juicy final there..no idea who will win ..but should be worth watching, if only YouTube after.

by ashkor87 Though ostapenko is a higher class player, borderline Tier 1, Alexandrova is top Tier 2...but their head to head is pretty even...

by ponchi101 So, if Ostapenko is bordering Tier 1, and Alexandrova is a top Tier 2, by that reasoning... they are about the same, no?

by Suliso Alexandrova is 29 years old and her highest ranking is #16. I don't think we can argue her and Ostapenko are the same. On any given day (albeit not today) they might be, but certainly not career wise.

Yes, but I would still expect the tier 1 to win..which she did

by ti-amie Interesting coin toss...

by ashkor87 Ostapenko seemed to totally overwhelm Alexandrova with her power, moved hr from side to side and left her frustrated. Very impressive! Ostapenko is on a roll... even her second serve wasnt attackable..

by ponchi101 The people that designed the Doubles trophies really gave it a lot of effort and thought, right?

He he

by ti-amie I really wasn't sure if the doubles trophy was legit, especially after seeing Aljona's trophy.
