Siniakova rattled off 6 games in a row in the second set when Gauff was up 4-0. Seems like Gauff lost focus or something. This was Gauff's first match since the Australian. I wonder if her confidence is down or she just wasn't ready to compete this week but didn't' want to withdraw because o the appearance fee.
I was sort of expecting this, as I noted above..slow court, in-form opponent, lack of match practice..lethal combination for Coco. I read she made 30 ufe on her forehand...

Osta versus Vika - Vika always beats Ostapenko, probabl because there is no more devastating punisher of weak second serves than Vika.. but AI says Osta is favorite.. which I cannot agree with - Vika is likely to beat her again, unless, by some miracle, Ostapenko gets nearly all her first serves in..

Zheng-Fernandez is a great match.

At 3-3 in the first set, Fernandez went up 40-0, then lost five straight points to get broken. Then from 3-5 down, she won four straight games to win the set.

Lots of highlight reel points.

Vika made it look easy breezy over Osta, I know she was 4-0 against her going in, but to lose only three games, wow!! Vika definitely has her number!!!

It is reported Ostapenko had 49 ufes..that is 2 sets right there! Evidently Vika stands up to power well ..she has stood up to Serena and Venus at their height. but I don't expect her to get past Swiatek.

I saw a bit of Iga vs Alexandrova and Iga was playing like she's angry about something.
