We actually did pretty well this week. Pegula and Osorio were in plenty of teams.

hehe... Well.. MOST of us did well.
I did half contest schzio right and pick Osorio in predictions at least.

i didnt have Pegula because... I dont know, i just have this bias I guess, that she isnt that great a player! I really thought Keys or Bencic would win Charleston.. they fell at the first hurdle. oh well..
now I am not doing any more trades, used up all 5. That tactic worked well for me last time, so let us hope for the best... much less stress for me too!

I figured not to go with Pegula after her run to Miami final, and thinking she's not as good on clay (although her numbers look only a little worse.)
I think I mainly didn't pick Osorio since she wasn't scheduled for week 2 of tournaments.

But it is not about Pegula being a "great" player. It was that she was the best player playing this week. She will be traded out by some people, when we move to red clay.
And going from slow hard courts to HT is not that rough.
Us that had Osorio got what we wanted. 50 points from a C player is a lot. She will probably play very little as she will likely not make the draws of Madrid or Rome, but she already paid off.

Yeah the "not playing next week" isn't as good an argument for not taking a C player
Having Kalinina in Charleston just because she played next week was obviously not the right move (and not just because she only got 1 point.)

Playing these games, including SP, gets in the way of my enjoying the tennis as tennis .so my clever workaround to enable me to do both, is to use up all my trades early and sit back ..now there is nothing I can actually do so I can just enjoy the tennis. It worked well last time, when I did no trades, more or less..let us see how it goes!

I think you are taking them too seriously, Ashkor.ashkor87 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 14, 2025 11:41 am Playing these games, including SP, gets in the way of my enjoying the tennis as tennis .so my clever workaround to enable me to do both, is to use up all my trades early and sit back ..now there is nothing I can actually do so I can just enjoy the tennis. Or: Anything that is only 25 points less than what Omegadoom gets is fine with me.

Re: 2025 The Slide into Paris: The Mud Puddle
The fantasy gods are now mocking me with the draws. My last two players in Rouen are playing in R16. And in Stuttgart I have five players - two players about to play each other... winner facing another of my players. And tomorrow the other two play

Worry not. All of us that traded Mirra in just got our well deserved comeuppance.
May be a low scoring week for many of us.

Re: 2025 The Slide into Paris: The Mud Puddle
Finding it very hard to figure out what trades to do. Really should have at least had one more A player in week one since I have a full lineup (except D players) this week and may again next week. Feels like any trade I would do would just be for the sake of doing a trade so will wait a week and hopefully will have something useful to do with them next week.

My thoughts exactly!
And apart from a D and an E on my team facing each other in the first round, I have no conflicts and acceptable draws. May the tennis gods be kind this week...

Re: 2025 The Slide into Paris: The Mud Puddle
Part of my plan is working. Most of my players made it into Madrid. So no trades this week.
Of course, my low score this week was unplanned. I need some of my lower players to score one or two upsets. Which won't happen.

After saying I probably won't do any trades, I make the one and only trade of the week
