How ELC shall be handled on clay:
How shall we go along with Electronic Line Calling, given that it is less reliable than on hard.

Re: How ELC shall be handled on clay:
Even if I think it should be temporarily decommissioned to make it "as effective as" it is on other surfaces, I doubt they'll actually go that far. At the same time, because of clay being what it is meaning players can clearly see errors, then I don't think they should be forced to suck it up. That just seems really unfair. So, get them umpires moving out of their seats like we know they can, and if at all possible use the overwrites to somehow fine tune the system.

Bring back the line judges and use ELC as the backup.

After today's matches had to be cancelled not because of darkness but because the ELC system couldn't work after the blackout hit makes Ponchi's suggestion the best one not just for clay but for all tournaments.

Even with the line calling I think the matches would have been cancelled because of the loss of power, and bathroom facilities.

Re: How ELC shall be handled on clay:
On clay, ELC is tricky because the ball marks help umps more than the tech sometimes. From what I’ve seen, it’s best to use it as a backup, stick with the human call unless it’s a clear dispute. The slow surface and marks can actually make traditional line calling more reliable than the sensors in some cases.

After the fiascos at the USO, I really don't know if the technology is good enough.
Let's face it. They may be testing this thing with players hitting at 60 Kph. Once you get pros serving at 220 Kph, the system may have a difficult time.
