by ponchi101 I know Gael is French, and his may also be his last RG, but... night session, against Dellien?
Like, only reason to rig the draw that I can think of.

by ponchi101 What happened to Dimitrov?
And: Sakkari. I gather she is really finished.

by Suliso Jabeur as well

by ashkor87 Jabeur looked strangely unfocused..hit some wild shots, drive volleys from the baseline, that even a beginner wouldn't..

by jazzyg Jim Courier just said Bellucci is the rare Italian who avoids clay at all costs.

Fact check: this season alone, he has played Marrakech, Monte Carlo, Barcelona, Madrid, the Aix-en-Provence challenger and Rome. He won only thre matches, but he definitely was not avoiding clay.

by ponchi101 I think he meant Monica.
You know, the high heels dig in and...

by jazzyg I agree Fonseca is a can't miss prospect who will be near the top of the game pretty soon, but I keep waiting for someone at TNT to point out he came into Roland Garros on a three-match losing streak without winning a set. PMac acting like he's clearly a better prospect than Draper is a tad much at this point.

by mick1303 I was fully expecting Fonseca to be blown away by a legitimate elite player in Hubi. He may yet lose, but already he shows that he has a ton of upside.

by ponchi101 If you have seen Fonseca play, you will see that, on clay, NOBODY is going to blow him away. He is the one doing the blowing away. The FH is at the limit of how hard can you hit one.
And he just beat Hubi convincingly. He has a lot of upside, indeed. On clay.

by ponchi101 FAA losses from 2 sets up. Another player that a couple of years was looking so solid, and now, one wonders.

by jazzyg That's FAA's third loss from two sets up in his last four slams. It's happened to him five times in his career.

Massive concerns there.

Thigh injury

by Oploskoffie Nothing quite like a late night on Philippe-Chatrier with Monfils and Dellien making life difficult for each other :D 5th set, here we go!

by ponchi101 But it has been a tedious match. Dellien has no power to pass Gael, and Gael is only keeping the ball in play.

Great tennis journalism ;)

by Owendonovan I, for one, have never cared for Courier as a player or commentator.

by ashkor87 Parks beat Muchova..but I am not celebrating...Muchova is probably not quite back yet.

I saw the first set. Parks kept yanking Muchova out of position and hit some nice shots behind her. Muchova didn't appear hindered in any way during the set and won the second set 6-2. The surprise was Parks winning the third set 6-1.

by ponchi101 The time off may have taken away from Muchova's precision.

I probably came into it at the wrong moment then, early in the 4th. I'm not going to disagree with your assessment ;) but with the crowd getting involved it just becomes a different kind of theatre for me. I was amused :D

by Suliso Musetti probably the 3rd strongest player on clay right now.
