by jazzyg So happy Pegula beat Vondrousova. She should have beaten her at Wimbledon two years ago but got tight when she was in winning position. Otherwise it might have been Pegula taking advantage of Jabeur's choke in the final.

by Owendonovan With the right conditions, I can see Pegula pulling off a Johanssen.

by ponchi101 I say that is a bit too much at RG. I don't think she is a top 5 clay court player. Sabalenka, Swiatek, Gauff, Paolini and Andreeva seem to me to be better. So all of them would need to be upset before Jessie could get the title.
But this was a very good comeback. Especially seeing how lost she looked after the first set.

by mick1303 Around this age (18+) Alcaraz took one-sided beating at Wimbledon from Medvedev, winning less games than Fonseca won today. I see clear parallels here. Look where Alcaraz is now. In a couple of years he may do to Draper what today's Alcaraz does to Medvedev. Or not )))

by ponchi101 Exactly. Fonseca is only 18.
We are so spoiled, expecting all the "greats" to start at 17. Fonseca has a long way to go. But he has weapons, and time.

by ashkor87 Coco not impressive..Alexandrova will beat her.

by mick1303 QF at the bottom will be Coco-Maddy, Andreeva-Pegula

by JTContinental Coco Gauff is the youngest player to make the R16 in 7 consecutive slams since Venus in 1997-1999 (she made 9 consecutive R16s)
