nelslus MORE importantly, it might have been helpful if I had looked up Kanepi's record at the Slams at the Wimbledon website. While I was apparently not paying attention, Kanepi has sucked at Wimbledon since 2014. For that matter, except in 2010 and 2013, it turns out that Kanepi has sucked at Wimbledon since 2006.
AND, I know that Kanepi's opponent has out-of-nowhere been winning matches lately. But, I mean, really. She's still Diane Perry. I thought her being Diane Parry would be enough for Kanepi to win. Then again, every week, there's a new Diane Perry.

It's also a whole other level of STANK when your pick is up a set and suffers an injury and has to retire, like happened to me with Dimitrov on Tuesday.

TMQ didn't watch this match to see if that was the case, but the scoreline checks out enough for me not to care to uncover anything that would disprove my astute observation. At least she didn't retire down 0-5 and match point with a fake injury. DANKing points awarded: 0

Sara Sorribes Tormo (11 victims) DANK TMQ bestows forgiveness on you for thinking Tan was due for a letdown. However, if you read about her response to her doubles opponent's Instagram slam, you'll see that she is unbothered.
Anhelina Kalinina (2 victims) DANK Like at the French Open, TMQ will tastefully refrain from dunking on Ukrainian players.
Anett Kontaveit (2 victims) STANK TMQ will dunk on Kontaveit though, who seemingly has forgotten how to play tennis during the offseason.
Bianca Andreescu (1 victim) STANK Her "comeback" has been a little overhyped. She's improved this year, but not that much.

by jazzyg My history of never winning a WTA SP continues with Juvan's loss to Watson, but I'm OK with it. Watson is a delightful person who deserved to finally reach the fourth round.
As for the match, Juvan is the better player but just got too tight in the first set, losing a break lead late in the first set, dropping the tiebreak 8-6 and then going away for the first five games of the second set. That's the risk you take when you pick an unproven 21-year old trying to make history of her own.

It is down to 5 people in this SP.
As for Krejcikova I didn't think she was gonna lose this match but I did think there was gonna be more upsets which is when I made up my brackets before the tournament it worked out that Pegula slipped to the one SF versus Gauff. I still think there will be more upsets on the way.

That is a very brave move for sure and she is holding her own so far.
by JazzNU Ugh! I knew I should've gone with Halep, shouldn't have second guessed and talked myself out of it. It is truly one of the biggest downfalls in SP. What sucks so much more is when your other picks for the day go the way you thought they would so anything else would've worked better. Only one hasn't so far (Badosa/Kvitova) and I wasn't touching that with a 10 foot pole anyway.
