I read somewhere that Basel climate now is what Tuscany used to be in late 19th century. On a purely personal level I like it too.
I was in team Iga in that match so lucky me...

Not that I dislike Iga or anything. But Osaka win would've injected an intrigue in the women's draw. It would've become 10-times more interesting.

I don't agree. She would have just messed up the draw and lost herself one or two rounds later. On hard courts perhaps a different story.

On Mick's side. She will now romp to the final, losing a total of 9 games.

Osaka definitely choked that match away. She had about 5 routine errors on pivotal points after going up 5-2 that she had not made all match, and most of them were not aggressive errors. They were just bad misses because she could not handle the moment.
Totally understandable. She still is trying to work her way back and did not have a win on clay anything like this even before her mental health issues and having a child.
I was on team Iga, too. Always found something disingenuous about Osaka, but she is one of the cleanest ball strikers ever. Let's see if she uses this as a positive or can't get past blowing what would have been a remarkable win.

But they are projected to meet in the semis rather than a final.
