watched highlights of Pegula-Shnaider (couldnt see the actual match, too late at night for me).. impressed with Peugula's court sense, ability to pull Shnaider out of position, ease with which she puts the ball in the right place after creating an opening. Nice to see.
A bit like Sloane, perhaps..except Sloane is even WAS A BIT more subtle..

She can hit clean winners with the FH. And mechanically, it is so sound it does not break down.
The service motion is smooth and non-problematic, but she does not generate much speed. The second serve can be attacked.
She is one of those players that, if I were her, I would call Mr. Sampras, Mr. Roddick or Mrs. Navratilova and spend a couple of weeks with them, to get more pop.

Sabalenka is moving much better this year..that is the one reason I didn't think she would win here...seems to have improved a lot in that regard..she is no Coco still, but not a lumbering elephant either...

Navarro will test her though, make her move and hit one more ball, which QZ couldn't do...could go either way

I don't think that Emma has seen power like Sabalenka so far.
Of course, easily fixed with a couple of hours on court with a male player that will blast balls at her. If the person does not blast her off court (that is no training session) she will be able to adjust to Sabalenka's power.
Agree. Navarro has a chance, although Sabalenka is the clear favorite.

BHM not moving well laterally..maybe that is her weakness, plus poor second serve

Finals, certainly Sabalenka should win ..she has learned to control her nerves, as she showed against Navarro..of course the finals is a different atmosphere altogether...but it is her turn, I think.
