That moment when, while at work, you open the live scores page and see Navarro down 0-6 0-5 :o

Rybakina had a brain-fade in the middle of the match but eventually got there

Navarro appeared totally lost, also, she was grimacing all the time, may have had a sprain or strain or something..but she clearly has no idea how to play on clay

As much as I love everything about Emma, she simply has no power. All strokes are mechanically beautiful, but she is like one of the most infamous cars in history: the Ferrari 208, a gorgeous machine with a 2.0 4 cylinder engine. She just can't hit a winner.
And she plays with Yonex, a racquet with no power at all.

Badosa takes out Naomi in the 3rd. One has to wonder what Naomi's plans will be. This is not her best surface, but she has said before that if the results are not there, she will call it quits. But she seems unable to get any traction.

And Cerundolo losses. That is odd. He was playing good tennis.

This is a big surprise - happy for Diallo.

I have watched less tennis this year than in at least the past 25, but one match I did see was Cerundulo-Shelton in the Munich semis, and Cerundulo choked like a dog when he served for a straight-set win. He is so much better than Shelton on clay, but he completely lost the power on his forehand for the rest of the match and lost in 3 sets.

Judging on one match can be dicey, but that choke job was so bad, I marked him down as someone who cannot handle pressure, so I am not shocked by his collapse today. Shelton barely won games on Zverev in the Munich final, and Cerundulo has never lost to Zverev. The moment got to him there and now.

He is very vocal and open on court when he gets down with himself.
I did not see this match. But if it was the same pattern, once he starts talking to himself he is cooked.

Joint's defeat is actually a reversal of the result at Rabat just the previous week.. another example of peaking too early and then not recovering in time. Rybakina played pretty badly too, in patches but she is a champion, so she could pull herself out. Osaka's footwork was terrible after the first set..but not much one can do about that - she is not a natural mover on clay.

Cerundolo losing like he did surprised me. This was Francisco not Juan-Manuel too. I like Diallo but he's in unchartered territory right now.

I may be the only one but I was surprised Naomi lost to Badosa who has been struggling with injury.

Did anyone see Gasquet winning?

I did. His opponent has the consistency of a roulette. So, nothing special. He got a good draw.
2, 2 & 1 Vs Sinner.
