TIL that there is a younger sister version of Mpetshi Perricard. I missed that she played the Australian Open Juniors, and also French Open Women's qualifying.

Griekspoor had a great start, then got an abdominal injury and within an hour that was that...

Never be sad on a weekend. Cry during business hours and get paid for your depression. Don't let capitalism win.

The SP's really bring the worst in you.
I want Draper to win the whole thing, especially to beat Sinner. But he is today's SP bandwagon.
The conflict of wishes is too much.

Re: 2025 RG Day 9 OoP & Discussion
The RG site has an "Excitement rating" meter. It is currently showing a 64% excitement measurement for the Djokovic - Norrie match.
Djokovic is winning 6-2 3-2, strolling down the park.
How do they measure that?

Solid win for Keys. Nice she had a straightforward win after the Kenin match. Not sure what I think of her chances against Gauff next though.

Re: 2025 RG Day 9 OoP & Discussion
Keys chances against ANYBODY are always good. She has all the weapons needed. If she goes FH to FH I say she can break down Coco. And if Coco gives her the usual ration of DF´s, Maddie has more than enough chances.texasniteowl wrote: ↑Mon Jun 02, 2025 3:36 pm Solid win for Keys. Of course, she can also give Coco 127 unforced errors to keep her in the match. That match is not a given for either player.

Re: 2025 RG Day 9 OoP & Discussion
On the night session issues.
Today, of the 4 matches on the women's side, only one went over 1:45. And it was the one that was the least promising: Pegula-Boisson, which on paper was supposed to be the easy match.
The other three were fine matches, but nothing special. As I expect that the Sinner-Rublev match will be. Most likely a routine 3 setter.
You will always find one match that was super compelling and great and that "should have been" the night match; it is always easy to see which one after they have been played. But if you had picked the WTA match today, you had 75% chance of picking one match that did not reach 1:45 minutes.
I still say that the WTA should have some matches, but I say another option has not been explored: how about starting a bit earlier, and having TWO women's matches? Maybe one doubles to start, then a singles. Or yes, two singles. Give the spectators a guarantee that they will get to see at least 4 sets.
