She baffles me. She's got all the goods to be a top ten player and yet somehow she manages to go on walkabout when it matters.

saw Kessler play Zheng on highlights video.. Kessler has the right idea - go to the net behind a low ball, often a slice - opponent will tend to hit it uppishly, and Kessler is a very good volleyer. She didnt win but she showed she knows how to.

Shnaider versus Keys will be very interesting.. Keys is a bit slow on her feet, so will be vulnerable.. wouldnt be surprised if Shnaider wins this one. Though, I must say, Keys has become much quicker and more agile over the past 12 months.. as she gets older (isnt that odd?)

Maria upsets Rybakina. Elena seems to be going nowhere nowadays, and this may be permanent.

saw the extended highlights - Rybakina played quite well, actually - Maria employed the slice and volley very effectively, always works on grass.. Maria will be a force at W if she plays like this.
(I have quickly traded her in to my Fantasy Team)

Ok, I know she is playing well, but "perfect" grass game is a bit too much. :)
She played two players that, although fast, are not extremely nimble. Elena is a "slow" mover for that echelon of the WTA, and Maddie is also very fast but her footwork is not quick and smooth.
Anybody that made the SF's at W cannot be said not to know a bit or two about grass court tennis. But this may be a bit flukey.
Hope she wins the tournament, though. Would be a good story.

Maria will lose in the first round of Wimbledon and take out a bunch of the pool.

As we expected an easy win for Maria. This is her 4th career title and 2nd on grass.
