I couldn't remember what he'd done to be banished to be honest. Many, many tennis "journalists" have said worse about other players present and past.
Hot mic’d. Tasteless snarky comment but who hasn’t made one of those when we thought no one was listening? I have.

I live in fear for the day he hangs it up! That’s how I found TAT about 20 years ago!

Who hasn't made a comment like that knowing people were listening?
It is downright McCarthyistic. The slightest bit, and you are banned, punished or ex-communicated. Way too much.
It is not as if the guy is a walking insulting machine.
(Still peeved with him when he said "the poorly named" contest (meaning our SP), especially after we had changed it. But, still love his commentary).

Wertheim has been doing that mailbag since the late 1990s. The only time I got a letter published was at the 1999 aussie open asking him if he had ever seen a heavy favorite play better in a loss than Davenport did in the semifinals to Mauresmo.

That was 26 years ago.

I missed something. Wasn't that comment at the end of 2024? Why is he being banished now?
It seems like time is going backwards towards 1984 . . . :freaking:

Does anyone know how to submit to his mailbag? There used to be a submit button, but I don't see one anymore!
