Soooooo.... With Rybakina out, this week really is on course to become one of the lowest scoring ones (on average) that I can remember

it was nice waking up today and not thinking "Which of my players lost today?"

Enough people have Mboko, Ostapenko and Muchova, so unless Sakkari wins, somebody will score that juicy 100 points win. That should be prize enough.

You are doing very well this week. You will see.
And... they played each other in the semis. Heck of a result.

Yay! In a huge turnaround from last week for me, I have 3 of the 4 semi-finalists! (Gauff, Pegula, Anisimova). At this point I'll take whatever good news I can find!

I was clever enough to bring in Pegula in time - bet that she would do well on a fast court.. which she did. Now trades are all done, I hope she plays Austin too..
no idea what conditions are like in Austin but the field doesnt seem very strong..

Re: Around The World 2026 - The Frequent Flyer Lounge
I have to admit I'm a little surprised with how many people took Navarro this week. (In addition to Pegula and Paolini.) I mean, her history this year is not exactly inspiring.
Because of the following reasons, I skipped Navarro...
a) Navarro's results this year
b) I already had Pegula and Jovic on my team
c) I had 3 trades left
d) I'm so far behind (8th place) in spite of my week 3 that I need a surprise...so I'll either do great or do terrible!
So I added Paolini (like everyone)...and then added Wang (Austin) and Linette (Merida).
But again, since I am down in 8th place I really had nothing to lose!

Re: Around The World 2026 - The Frequent Flyer Lounge
As far as Navarro goes, honestly, I was out of ideas. I'd already done a great job of overthinking my initial team and after looking at a LOT of other options, statistically, she still made some sense. Also, I'd failed to trade in Pegula for the previous week and also already had Jovic.
In other words, I'm already looking forward to the Slide into Paris

I want double points for Paolini for adding her a week ago (and having her do nothing for me last week!)

Re: Around The World 2026 - The Frequent Flyer Lounge
I originally had looked at what I thought were the field for Merida and Austin and made my B, C and D choices based on that, but that fell apart, since most of my picks are not playing this week. Final trade added Jovic instead of Paolina, who has had meh results so far (so she will win Merida, I have no doubt). But thanks to those who run the games - Far east is always difficult for me due to time differences, but so may injuries and withdrawals made picks totally scrambled for everyone.
It seems like time is going backwards towards 1984 . . .
