One note: play does not start until 1 pm Wimbledon time today, so you have a couple of hours extra to make your picks.

25 remain and for the first day, everyone made a pick! We will lose at least 7 today, as there are many Pegula/Vondrousova pickers.
The breakdown

Interesting to see if the 7 can still beat the draw after Svitolina continued her magical summer.

TMQ is clocking out early tonight, but here are Day 10's numbers, subject to change as the remaining 7 players are free to change their picks until the start of play. I'll also have our R16/QF Edition of STANK or DANK on tap tomorrow.
The (currently unofficial) numbers

Down to our final four!
3 of our remaining players only have one pick left (1 with Jabeur, 2 with Svitolina), while ron@tennisreporters has 2 players left to pick from (Jabeur and Svitolina)

Re: UPDATED 2023 WSP Womens Picks & Results Thread
Gather around, children, for story hour, for the R16/QF edition of STANK or DANK is upon us! We are in the second week, so theoretically all the good players are left in the draw, but that doesn't mean your pick wasn't as STANKy than a nursery diaper pail. Then again, it may have been as DANK as Seth Rogen's breath as he churns out yet another piece of pottery. Find out below!
R16
Victoria Azarenka (8 victims) DANK The match of the tournament so far, at least on the women's side (TMQ watches next to zero men's tennis, so cannot vouch for the entertainment value of its inferior product where the same three people win every tournament for two decades+), so nothing to criticize here, other than Azarenka let a third set tiebreak lead slip from her fingers.
Petra Kvitova (4 victims) STANK Conversely, this was the second worst match of the tournament so far (Alexandrova/Brengle gets our vote for the very worst, where the winner of the match hit 91 UFEs en route to victory), so I can award no DANKness despite the fact that Petra was rolling through the early rounds and looking like she might win the whole thing.
Marie Bouzkova (1 victim) DANK-LITE Bouzkova's play was moist with DANKness early in the match, but ended up dried out and STANKy as a Norwegian supper.
Mirra Andreeva (1 victim) STANK Not yet, declares TMQ. Andreeva has a lot of technical skill, but proved her mental game is not at yet at pro level. While the way she was able to avoid hitting someone with her also technically perfect racquet slams was pretty DANK, her temper tantrum was bratty and STANKy enough to fill that nursery diaper pail mentioned above.
QF
Jessica Pegula (15 victims) DANK If they hadn't stopped to let the court get all DANK while they closed the roof, the result would almost certainly been in your favor. Tough luck.
Iga Swiatek (3 victims) STANK Iga is the queen everywhere else, but merely a duchess on the grass. After watching her almost lose to Bencic in the R16, it was inevitable that Swiatek would go no further in this tournament, and you waited too long to pull trigger.
Elena Rybakina (2 victims) DANK TMQ has a mental block with Rybakina because her game is very...we'll say "unentertaining" to us. We think she should have beaten Jabeur (who is playing a notch below last year's form still), but Rybakina's streakiness continues to plague her. But how nice for her to lose a title and still gain points.
Madison Keys (1 victim) STANK Um...no. Keys was on a tear but folded against a top player like she always does. TMQ can only assume this was your only viable pick for this day.

To have a hope of beating the draw, I had to take Keys; I went for it.
Best of luck to those remaining!

Re: UPDATED 2023 WSP Womens Picks & Results Thread
Getting close to being down to 1 left (although we would have 4 winners if Jabeur loses.)
My day one SP pick is a couple games away from making final She was actually fifth most picked on day one.

Too bad our winner will not have a chance to beat the draw but congratulations to said winner.
